How to use the GOSI Calculator

1

Choose your nationality

Saudi nationals contribute to pensions and SANED; non-Saudi employees have no personal deduction.

2

Select your registration track (Saudis only)

Subscribers registered before 3 July 2024 keep the 9% pension rate; new entrants follow the phase-in (10% per side from July 2026).

3

Enter your basic salary

Type your monthly basic salary in SAR — this plus housing forms the GOSI contributory wage.

4

Add your housing allowance

Housing allowance is part of the contributory wage up to the SAR 45,000 combined ceiling.

5

Review the branch-by-branch breakdown

See the annuities, SANED and occupational hazards split between you and your employer.

Understanding your GOSI results

The contributory wage equals basic salary plus housing allowance, capped at SAR 45,000 per month. A Saudi employee pays 9.75% of that wage (9% annuities + 0.75% SANED), while the employer pays the same pension and SANED shares plus 2% occupational hazards — 11.75% in total. Non-Saudi employees pay nothing personally; their employer covers only the 2% occupational hazards branch.

Example: SAR 12,500 package

A Saudi employee with SAR 10,000 basic + SAR 2,500 housing has a contributory wage of SAR 12,500. The employee deduction is SAR 1,218.75 (9.75%), the employer pays SAR 1,468.75 (11.75%), so the total cost to the company is SAR 14,468.75 including salary.

GOSI Calculator — FAQs

What is GOSI?
GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance) is the Saudi government body that manages social insurance for private-sector employees: retirement pensions, disability and survivor benefits, unemployment insurance (SANED) and occupational hazard coverage.
How is the GOSI deduction calculated?
Multiply the contributory wage (basic salary + housing allowance, max SAR 45,000) by the applicable rate. A Saudi employee pays 9.75%; the employer adds 11.75%. Example: SAR 20,000 wage → SAR 1,950 deducted from the employee.
Why is my GOSI calculated on basic + housing only?
GOSI regulations define the contributory wage as the basic salary plus housing allowance. Transportation, food allowances, overtime, commissions and bonuses are excluded.
What happens if my salary exceeds SAR 45,000?
Contributions stop at the SAR 45,000 monthly ceiling. A Saudi earning SAR 60,000 total pays at most SAR 4,387.50 (9.75% of 45,000), and the employer pays SAR 5,287.50.
Do non-Saudi employees pay GOSI?
No. Expats have zero personal GOSI deduction. Their employer pays only 2% occupational hazards coverage, which protects them against work injuries and occupational disease.
What is SANED and who gets it?
SANED is unemployment insurance financed at 0.75% by the employee and 0.75% by the employer. Saudi nationals who lose their job involuntarily can claim 60% of their average wage (capped at SAR 9,000) for the first three months of unemployment.
My colleague pays a different percentage — why?
Employees registered with GOSI for the first time on or after 3 July 2024 fall under the new system: the pension rate rises in four annual steps from 9% to 11% per side. From July 2026 to June 2027 new entrants pay 10%, i.e. 10.75% total.
Is this calculator official?
No — it is an independent estimator based on GOSI's published rates (verified August 2026). Your payslip and the GOSI portal remain the authoritative sources.
